Trade Rumor: St Louis Blues Dealing Defenseman Before Expansion Draft

The St Louis Blues are a team expected to make some deals this offseason and one name you can expect to be traded is defenseman Vince Dunn. According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the Blues have asked for a first-round pick in return for Dunn in the past, and will have to revisit their ask this summer.

The 24-year-old is a blossoming defenseman who played very well for the team when they won the Stanley cup. The Blues have Justin Faulk, Torey Krug and Colton Parayko to protect from the Seattle Kraken, and will be looking to move Dunn to avoid losing him for nothing. Dunn is coming off a one-year contract, where he made $1.875 million.

Last season Dunn appeared in 43 games, recording six goals and 20 points. The former second-round pick averaged 19:15 of ice-time a night and will bring some experience to his new team. There's going to be a ton of interest in Dunn, however it will be very tough for the Blues to get a first-round pick in return when teams know how desperate they are to make a trade before the expansion draft. Interesting times across the NHL as there will be a number of big names on the trade market as teams look to keep talent away from the Seattle Kraken.
