Video: Avs' Mikko Rantanen Rips Home Game 2 Overtime Winner

The Colorado Avalanche are a big big problem for every other team in the NHL as they are rolling these Stanley Cup Playoffs. While the Avs didn't have their best game in Game 2 against the Vegas Golden Knights, they played well enough to get the job done. It also doesn't hurt when you get a power-play in overtime and one of your best players has a grade A chance.

Mikko Rantanen has enjoyed himself a fine season and in Game 2 showed why he's one of the best goal-scorers in the league, and may just be the most underrated. However, the young sniper knows without his netminder in this game, the Avalanche stood no chance:

Grubi bailed us out today. He had a really, really good game. He's basically the reason why we got to OT. Not our best game, but still found a way. That’s what we’ve been doing the whole year. Sometimes we haven’t been feeling it and Grubi’s been awesome and stealing some wins for us — like today. That’s what you need if you want to win the Cup.
Grubauer had 39 saves in becoming the first goaltender in franchise history to pick up six straight victories to start a postseason. As for Rantanen, this was his second career playoff overtime goal, the first coming in a first-round series back in 2019.
