3 Teams Who Could End Up With Dougie Hamilton

Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Dougie Hamilton is one of the biggest names expected to be changing teams this summer as the d-man is currently talking to other teams about a potential sign-and-trade. The 'Canes granted Hamilton permission to go test the market and there's certainly been a ton of interest.

3 Teams Who Appear to Be Favorites for Hamilton

Chicago Blackhawks: Blackhawks management is doing their best to move Duncan Keith at the moment and create even more cap space as they are looking to acquire an elite defenseman this summer. As Brent Seabrook has retired and showing their intentions with Keith, it's obvious Chicago is looking for the next wave of talent on their back-end. Hamilton gives them a stud #1 they desperately need.

Philadelphia Flyers: It's going to be Hamilton or Seth Jones for the Flyers as they are desperately trying to acquire a right-handed top-2 defenseman. Last season Hamilton had 42 points in 55 games and has shown he's game continues to elevate. The former first round pick is going to cost around $8 million next season but the Flyers would be happy to spend that.

Winnipeg Jets: You have to think it's going to take some convincing to get Hamilton to commit long term to the Jets, as playing hockey in Winnipeg isn't a prime destination. The team could be real good next season with the right-handed defenseman in their lineup and it feels like the team has been looking for someone for their right-side ever since Dustin Byfuglien retired.
