Los Angeles Kings And Arizona Coyotes Make A Trade

The Los Angeles Kings and Arizona Coyotes have made a minor trade. The Kings are sending winger Bokondji Imama and defenseman Cole Hults to Arizona in exchange for forwards Brayden Burke and Tyler Steenbergen

Imama has spent the last four seasons with the Ontario Reign of the AHL and has primarily been noted as a gritty player who is not afraid to drop the gloves. Yet, his past two seasons in the league has shown noticeable increases in his offensive production. This season was his best one, though, as he had nine goals and 14 points in 31 games. With the Coyotes embracing the tank, perhaps he could find himself in their bottom-six next season.

Hults is a 23-year-old defenseman who just started his professional career this year. In 19 games with the Reign, he had a goal and recorded five points. He played the previous three seasons with Penn State University and had 78 points in 111 games.

In 2019-20, Burke had 52 points and 51 with the Tuscon Roadrunners and seemed like somebody the Coyotes would give a chance this season. However, he didn't replicate his offensive production this year in the AHL, as he only had a goal and 14 points in 28 points. The 24-year-old could find his way to the NHL if he finds his past offensive success, but the clock is ticking.

Steenbergen spent the last three seasons with the Roadrunners and had 61 total points in 156 games. Yet, he is the most recognizable name of the bunch. He will forever have his name in Canadian hockey history, as he scored the game-winning goal for Canada in the 2018 WJC Gold Medal Game. The video of the goal is above.
