Rumor: Seattle Kraken Not Selecting Max Domi

The Seattle Kraken are getting set to unveil their roster Wednesday and rumors have surfaced stating the team is not interested in selecting Max Domi from the Columbus Blue Jackets.

According to Sportsnet's Steve Dangle, the freshly minted insider admitted he has some inside information about the Domi situation:

Seattle could still take Domi and flip him but I don’t think he’s in their plans to play. We’ll see

Some of Columbus' beat writers joined in the discussion as well, as it appears Domi's health status could be playing a factor here. Last season in his first in Columbus, the 26-year-old recorded 24 points in 54 games and definitely looked out of place at times. It was his worst season statistically, and to cap off his horrible year, he had shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum.

At $6 million base salary, and missing some of next season, it's quite the risk for a brand new organization so it makes sense for the Kraken to pass on Domi.
