Rumor: This Team May Be In On The Dougie Hamilton Sweepstakes

According to Frank Seravalli, Dougie Hamilton may be a player on the Edmonton Oilers' wish list. This is because they just lost Adam Larsson to the Seattle Kraken and Tyson Barrie may be leaving via free agency. He would be an excellent upgrade from Barrie, as he produces just as well offensively, but is more sound defensively.

Seravalli also notes that the Oilers would likely have to buyout at least one of James Neal or Mikko Koskinen to make a potential contract work. The possibility of this occurring with Neal seems very likely, as it's been speculated all summer

Hamilton is still just 28-years-old and has plenty of years left in his prime. In 55 games this season, the right-handed defenseman had 10 goals and 42 total points. His point totals could very well go up if playing with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, too/

If the Oilers manage to sign Hamilton, it would be fantastic for them. They already are expected to bring Zach Hyman in, too.
