Evander Kane's Teammates Don't Want Him Back Next Season

Evander Kane of the San Jose Sharks is a bit of a circus considering how much drama follows him around on and off the ice. While he enjoyed one of his best seasons in 2020-21, reports have surfaced suggesting several of his teammates have come forward to management and asked for him to be traded.

Kane filed for bankruptcy during last season which came out publicly, and so has his current divorce after his soon-to-be ex-wife sent out messages alleging that Kane bet on his own games and threw them for profits.

It's been reported by The Athletic's Kevin Kurz the Sharks tried to trade Kane earlier this offseason but couldn't come to an agreement. Sharks players prefer he plays elsewhere and are hoping he doesn't return to the team.

Kane has a modified no-trade clause which gives him a ton of protection. He submits a list of three teams he's willing to be shipped off to. Last season the 30-year-old winger scored 22 goals and added 27 assists in 56 games. He carries a $7 million cap hit and is signed through the 2024-25 season. With everything that comes in the 'Evander Kane Package', good luck to the Sharks on this one.
