Montreal Canadiens Re-Sign Ryan Poehling

The Montreal Canadiens have signed Ryan Poehling to a two-year deal. The first season is two-way, while the following year changes to a one-way deal. It will have an average annual value of $750,000.

Poehling spent the entirety of this past season with the Laval Rocket. In 28 games, he scored 11 goals and had 25 points. It was a noticeable improvement from his previous season, as he had just 13 points in 36 games with Laval.

The last time he suited up for the Montreal Canadiens was during the 2019-20 season. In 27 games, he had a goal and an assist. However, when he first made his debut with the team the season before, he famously scored a hat trick. It was a marvelous start to his career and he is hoping to find that past success moving forward.

Poehling stands a shot of making the team's bottom-six this season. He is just 22 years old, so he definitely has more time to grow.
