Anaheim Ducks: 2 Underrated Players To Watch

The NHL has so many underrated players who deserve far more recognition. In this segment, we will be discussing two from every team in the league. Their overall roles and abilities may differ, but they all share the common theme that they are not as respected as they ought to be.

For full transparency, two teams will be randomly picked from a wheel each day. The winners will then be discussed.

In today's second piece, let's discuss the Anaheim Ducks. Due to the fact that they have had their struggles over these last few years, many hockey fans do not pay them enough attention. They do have exciting prospects like Trevor Zegras and Jamie Drysdale who should be huge parts of their future. However, when focusing on the present, fans watch these two underrated players closely.

Derek Grant C: Derek Grant has become a nice part of Anaheim's bottom-six. In 46 games this past season, he scored six goals and had 15 points. He re-signed with the team this past summer after ending the previous season with the Philadelphia Flyers. The season before, he scored a total of 15 goals between the two teams and had 25 points in 56 games. Therefore, he can be a pretty decent contributor in his role and that does warrant some praise. He also can be utilized on the penalty kill because of his defensive ability as well.

Troy Terry C/RW: Troy Terry had the best season of his short career thus far. In 48 games this past season, he had seven goals, 13 assists and 20 points. These were all career-highs. The 24-year-old forward seems to be getting better with each season and it's time fans pay more attention to him. With the Ducks rebuilding, he could end up getting a bit more playing time this upcoming season, too.
