Flames Matthew Tkachuk Sick and Tired of Losing

Matthew Tkachuk has enjoyed his time as a Calgary Flame but it's time to put up or shut up. Tkachuk recently admitted the team needs to start showing up when it matters and anything less than some Stanley Cup playoff success will be a huge failure.

Tkachuk met with the media and had this to say about the upcoming season as there's been a ton of rumors he could end up being traded:

I know you make your personal and your team legacy in playoffs. So that's what I'm hoping to do this year is make a very long run in the playoffs and do something special with our team. Because I would love to do that with that group of guys there. I consider myself to be a solid player that hasn't done a lot so far in the league yet. So hoping for a year where I can prove that this year. It has nothing to do with me - it's got everything to do with team success. (My teammates) are very special to me, and I enjoy working with them each and every day. It's time for us to do something this year.

The Flames have made the playoffs three times in the first five seasons with Tkachuk in the lineup, and this year is certainly more important and impactful than any other. If the team does not have any success this season, there's going to be massive changes coming in Calgary and it may just start with sending Tkachuk packing.
