Rumor: Tyler Bozak To Sign Contract Shortly

According to Elliotte Friedman, he's been informed by "a couple clubs" that they are expecting Tyler Bozak to pick his next destination very soon. In his piece, Friedman does not state where Bozak is expected to end up. However, he does speculate that it may be Pittsburgh because of Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin being out for the beginning of the season.

It's surprising that it is taking Bozak this long to find a home. Even at 35 years old, he is still a very solid two-way center in this league. In 31 games this past season with the St. Louis Blues, he scored five goals and recorded 17 points. He also had a goal and an assist in four playoff games against the Colorado Avalanche. Besides his solid offense, he also won 56.7% of his faceoffs, so teams needing help in that aspect who should consider him. This is especially the case if he comes at a cheap price.

Bozak did have some injury trouble last season though, as he missed 21 games because of a concussion. However, his ability to bounce back and do well in the postseason showed that he still is productive in this league.

In 764 career games between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Blues, Bozak has 167 goals, 282 assists and 449 points.
