Trade Rumor: Christian Dvorak to the Montreal Canadiens

Time is ticking for Marc Bergevin as the Montreal Canadiens need to make up their minds on whether or not they will be matching Carolina Hurricanes' offer sheet for Jesperi Kotkaniemi. If the Canadiens decide to walk, rumor has them considering several deals including one with the Arizona Coyotes.

Christian Dvorak is the main target from the Coyotes as the Canadiens would deal both draft picks they receive from the Hurricanes, along with at least one other asset. Dvorak is blossoming into one of the best young centers in the game and has been working on his 200-foot game. He would be a great #2 for Montreal behind Nick Suzuki, ending last season with 31 points in 56 games.

Dvorak is under contract for the next four seasons, making $4.45 million, and has been linked not only to the Canadiens but also the Columbus Blue Jackets and Minnesota Wild. Arizona is open to continue wheeling and dealing as the team tries to recoup draft picks.

As for Kotkaniemi, he'll find out in roughly 24 hours what team he'll be playing for next season and it certainly seems like at this point, he's destined to join the bunch of jerks.
