Montreal Canadiens Provide Update On Jonathan Drouin

In Tuesday night's contest against the Detroit Red Wings, Jonathan Drouin was struck in the head with a shot. From here, he immediately went to the hospital for further evaluation. Although it was scary to witness in the moment, Montreal Canadiens head coach Dominique Ducharme announced Wednesday that Drouin doesn't have a concussion and will be reevaluated on Thursday.

This is fantastic to hear and we certainly hope it remains that way. On a Montreal team that has been struggling this season, Drouin has been one of their few bright spots. In 11 games thus far, he has two goals and seven points.

After all that he went through last season, every fan should be cheering for him to have a bounce back campaign. The Canadiens play Thursday night against the New York Islanders and we will have to see if they decide to sit Drouin for it. Even if he passes another concussion test, they could elect to play it safe.
