Trade Rumor: Wild Looking To Acquire Canucks' Forward

The Minnesota Wild have called the Vancouver Canucks about the possibility of a J.T. Miller trade, according to Ben Kuzma of The Province.

At this time, the Canucks haven't committed to selling, as the season is still fairly young. However, it certainly doesn't seem out of the question that they do. They have a 6-11-2 record and have major obstacles to overcome if they hope to bounce back into potential playoff contention.

Miller's contract expires at the end of the 2022-23 season and carries a $5.25 million cap hit. Therefore, he would be more than just a rental for the Wild or any other team if they successfully acquire him from the Canucks. It could be something for the Canucks to consider, as they could land a sweet return for the 28-year-old forward.

Even with the Canucks' poor play, Miller has been off to a marvelous start with the team. In 19 games, he has seven goals and 19 total points. Given the fact that he can play both center and on the wing, there could be a major market for him.
