TSN's Darren Dreger Chokes On Live Television
It was a scary moment for Darren Dreger and anyone watching the TSN broadcast. Last night, Dreger was chatting on the segment "Insider Trading" when his voice suddenly became shaky and his face turned color.
We are very happy to see that Dreger was okay and is now able to have a chuckle at himself. While he was speaking, it became immediately clear that he was in some discomfort, though he attempted to carry on with the broadcast as long as possible.
Host Lindsay Hamilton realized that something was not right and asked colleague Jamie McLellan to take over. At this moment, the camera cut away from Dreger and he continued to gasp for air. Moments later, Dreger felt fine enough to return to the camera and made a smooth, self depreciating joke that seemingly put the audience at ease.
Almost expired on national television but here we are. Live to fight another day.
The conversation flowed into concerns about the Ottawa Senators the adversity they are facing from Covid-19. Half jokingly, Dreger ensured the audience that this isolated episode is unrelated to Covid-19 and he did not like the segue.
This was truly a scary and shocking event, but we are glad to see Dreger is okay.
