Dallas Stars Defenseman To Miss Time

The Dallas Stars have placed defenseman Jani Hakanpaa in COVID-19 protocol. With this, he is the first player on the Stars to enter it during the current surge of the virus.

Hakanpaa has been a very solid bottom-pair defenseman for the Stars so far this season. Although he quietly signed with the team during the summer, he's certainly making a big impact. In 28 games this season, he has five assists and a plus-4 rating. He's also been noticeably dominant in regards to the physical side of the game, as the 6'6 defenseman has a whopping 70 hits already.

The Stars certainly will be hoping that this is the lone case that they will have to deal with from here. Barring any more postponements, they are set to return to action on December 29th when they take on the red hot Colorado Avalanche. At this juncture, the Stars have a 15-12-2 record and are sixth in the Central Division, so a win is needed.
