Philadelphia Flyers Lose Top-Six Forward For Several Weeks

It was a costly loss to the New York Rangers this week as the Philadelphia Flyers have lost forward Joel Farabee to injury. He's expected to miss a couple of weeks with an upper-body injury.

Farabee has been one of the biggest bright spots on a Flyers team that is struggling this season. So far in 21 games, Farabee has scored seven goals and the former first-round pick was starting to get some more ice-time of late. It's certainly unfortunate news for him and the Flyers.

It may be salt in the wound on this one to receive this news as Farabee lost an edge against the Rangers and basically injured himself. The play happened during the first period when the Flyers forward was in on the forecheck, Farabee then lost an edge as he tried to turn and essentially ate the boards. From the looks of it, it's likely a shoulder strain of some sort.
