Help On The Way For Bruins

Boston Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy is expected to return to the lineup for Monday night's contest against the Washington Capitals.

McAvoy has missed two straight games for the Bruins because of a lower-body injury. Although the Bruins did manage to beat the Tampa Bay Lightning by a 5-2 final score without the 24-year-old defenseman, they certainly are ecstatic to have him back. Keep in mind, he's their best blueliner by a country mile.

Fresh off of signing a monstrous eight-year extension with the Bruins, McAvoy has been on fire this campaign. In 28 games, he has five goals, 15 assists, and a plus-7 rating. With this, he's on pace for the best offensive season of his young career.

It is good timing for McAvoy to return for the Bruins, as the Capitals are one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference. At this time, the Capitals have a 20-7-9 record and are third in the deep Metropolitan Division. It should be a fun matchup and assuming McAvoy officially plays for the Bruins, it would be a huge lift for the team.
