Kings To Be Without 2 Defensemen

The Los Angeles Kings have placed Matt Roy in COVID protocol. With that, Mikey Anderson has been put on injured reserve due to an upper-body injury.

This is certainly not ideal, as they now have lost two mainstays of their defensive group. This is very difficult when also remembering that they are set to play the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday afternoon.

Roy is once again having a very solid season with the Kings. In 45 games, he has 13 assists to go along with a plus-12 rating. Over the last few seasons, he has really cemented himself a permanent spot in Los Angeles' top six. Thus, the 26-year-old's absence is certainly notable.

Anderson has also been playing well for the Kings this season, too. In 44 games, he has two goals, three assists, and a plus-10 rating. He's been reliable defensively, and that's encouraging to see from the 22-year-old. He is just getting his career started, and so far, he's making the Kings happy about taking him in the fourth round.

While these two are out, the Kings will have to figure out how to replace them. Here's to hoping they can jump back into the lineup shortly.
