NHL Rumors: 2 Seattle Kraken Who Could Be Traded

The Seattle Kraken have not met expectations this season, even with being an expansion team. It appears management's interesting tactic to emphasize salary cap space moving forward has cost the team some wins in 2021-22. Expect the Kraken to be busy at the trade deadline and here's a couple of players who have been sparking a ton of league wide interest.

Calle Jarnkrok

The long-time Nashville Predator started slow but has been on a tear of late for Seattle. The 30-year-old is versatile which makes him appealing to a number of teams as he's able to play all over the lineup and in all situations. So far in 2021-22 he has recorded 11 points in 25 games and his career high came back in 2017-18 with the Preds when he tallied 35 points in 68 games. There's a great chance Jarnkrok gets dealt back to the Predators as they have a ton of cap space and a team that's a contender for the Stanley Cup.

Chris Dreidger

The ex-Florida Panthers netminder hasn't enjoyed the same success so far in Seattle and his name has been mentioned recently in trade speculation. The 27-year-old is signed for two more years at a very reasonable cap hit of $3.5 million per season, however this season it's been a struggle, posting a 3.32 GAA and a .896 save %. Regardless, given his last couple of seasons in Florida, there's going to be interest and he's become a trade candidate for the Washington Capitals, Edmonton Oilers, and Colorado Avalanche.

Expect to see multiple moves from Kraken general manager Ron Francis as his hockey club is no where near the playoff picture and will be looking to cash in on some of their assets before the Mar.21 trade deadline.
