NHL Rumors: Canucks Shopping Top-Six Forward

While on Hockey Night in Canada, Elliotte Friedman noted that the Vancouver Canucks are listening to trade offers regarding winger Conor Garland.
With the Canucks changing their management, it does open the door for them to make significant changes to their roster. J.T. Miller has been the biggest name in the rumor mill from them as of late, but now with this development from Friedman, we could also see Garland moved, too.

At this juncture of the season, the Canucks have a 19-19-6 record. They have improved noticeably since they hired Bruce Boudreau as head coach, but they still do not look like a playoff team. With Miller and now potentially Garland available for the taking, one has to wonder if they are ready to embark on a retooling period.

The Canucks just acquired Garland from the Arizona Coyotes during the offseason and signed him to a five-year, $24.75 million contract. He doesn't carry any no-movement clauses, though, so Vancouver has complete freedom to move him if a strong enough offer comes around. Still, though, it also is weird to see his name in the rumor mill so quickly during his tenure with the club.

In 39 games this season, Garland has 10 goals, 14 assists, and a plus-8 rating.
