NHL Rumors: Rangers Interested In Canadiens Forward

According to Arthur Staple of The Athletic, the New York Rangers are interested in Montreal Canadiens forward Artturi Lehkonen.

Lehkonen could be a nice addition to the Rangers. He works well in the bottom six and also is a very effective penalty killer. With Sammy Blais done for the year, the Rangers have been looking for a replacement. In theory, Lehkonen could be an intriguing option to do just that.

In 33 games this season, Lehkonen has four goals and eight helpers. That's pretty decent production for his role and that would be welcomed on the Rangers. He also just went on a long playoff run with Montreal last season, too, which is something New York is aiming to do. At this time, they have a 24-10-4 record, so it certainly seems possible.

Lehkonen won't be the last name in the rumor mill from the Canadiens. At this time, they have a 7-24-5 record and should be open for business as we get closer to the deadline.
