NHL Rumors: Seattle Kraken To Trade Top Winger

The Seattle Kraken could end up trading forward Jordan Eberle by the deadline, according to Dan Rosen.

The Kraken are currently one of the worst teams in the entire league, as they have a 12-24-4 record thus far. Needless to say, they have had an entirely different start to their franchise's history than the Vegas Golden Knights. It seems probable that they will be sellers and grow their team slowly. As a result of this, a veteran winger like Eberle could be the kind of player to move.

Eberle certainly has been having a solid season with Seattle, though. In 38 games, he has 12 goals to go along with a team-leading 24 points. Throughout his NHL career, he has been a very good top-six winger, so many teams would surely pursue if officially made available. He would be a fantastic addition to a playoff team, especially.

Eberle's contract lasts until the completion of the 2023-24 season and carries a $5.5 million cap hit. Due to this, he would be far more than just a rental if a team acquired him. We will have to wait and see if he does indeed get traded by this spring.
