Stars Head Coach Rick Bowness Fined $25,000

Dallas Stars head coach Rick Bowness has been fined $25,000 for his outburst at the end of Sunday night's game against the St. Louis Blues.

Bowness was livid at the game's officials because they called two penalties on the Stars with less than two minutes left in the contest. Before they were called, the Stars had a 1-0 lead. Unfortunately for the team, they would allow two power-play goals to the Blues and end up losing by a 2-1 final score.

It isn't all that common to see two penalties called that quickly at the end of the game, so one can understand why Bowness would be angry. Yet, the league felt the way he dealt with his anger was worthy of a fine - hence why he received it.

This is the second fine handed to a head coach this season, as Rod Brind'Amour of the Carolina Hurricanes also was given a $25,000 fine earlier this campaign for criticizing officials.
