Tampa Bay Lightning Defenseman To Miss Time

The Tampa Bay Lightning will be without Zach Bogosian for a bit, as he is expected to miss the next two to three weeks because of a lower-body injury.

This has been a hard year for Bogosian when it comes to injuries. He missed a good chunk of action on the campaign because of it, so it's difficult not to feel bad for the veteran defenseman.

Yet, although he's been dealing with multiple injuries, he's been playing well when actually on the ice. In 23 games thus far, he has two goals, four assists, and a plus-5 rating. He's been a nice bottom-pair defenseman for them and of course, is continuing to play a very physical game in the process. One shouldn't underestimate this element that he brings to the lineup.

Tampa Bay will now have to replace him, which isn't necessarily the easiest of tasks. It is crucial, however, as the Lightning are currently tied for first in the Atlantic Division with the Florida Panthers.

Alas, here's to hoping Bogosian can return right on schedule.
