Winnipeg Jets Call Up Top Prospect

The Winnipeg Jets have recalled Cole Perfetti from the team's taxi squad. This move is in response to Paul Stastny entering COVID-19 protocol.

Losing Stastny isn't ideal for the Jets, as he's been one of their top forwards this season. In 24 games, he has eight goals, eight assists, and a plus-10 rating. However, even with this being the case, it's also exciting to see that Perfetti's the player who Winnipeg is choosing to replace him.

Perfetti is Winnipeg's best prospect, so all eyes will naturally be on him. In three games with the Jets earlier this season, he was held off the scoresheet. However, with the Manitoba Moose of the AHL, he has six goals and 15 points in 17 contests. He also played for Team Canada during the World Junior Championships - where he had a goal and five assists in two games.

The Jets selected Perfetti with the 10th overall pick of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. The 20-year-old has all the tools to be a top-six forward at the NHL level, so it will be fun to see how he does during this stint with the team.
