3 Possible Trade Destinations For Claude Giroux

With the Philadelphia Flyers having a 15-22-8 record this season, it's clear that they are destined to be sellers this trade deadline. Their biggest rental candidate is Claude Giroux, and Chuck Fletcher has made it known that he will trade the star forward if he wishes to be. If he is okay with a change of scenery, the 34-year-old will have a plethora of takers when officially made available.

Here are three potential landing spots for the longtime Flyers captain.

Colorado Avalanche: If Giroux wants to win a Stanley Cup, the Colorado Avalanche may be his best chance of obtaining one. They are absolutely stacked and currently sport a ridiculous 32-8-4 record. However, they could use a little help on the wing, and Giroux's versatility would allow him to do just that. Can you imagine him joining an already-lethal Colorado lineup?

Boston Bruins: The Bruins need a second-line center and will be linked to all potential trade targets who can help fix this issue. Giroux could be a nice short-term option for them, as he could be an excellent match with wingers David Pastrnak and Taylor Hall. With how strong the Atlantic Division is, bringing in a player like Giroux may be their only hope to win a playoff series this year.

Minnesota Wild: The Wild are another team in the Western Conference who could use an upgrade in their forward group. When looking at their lineup, Giroux could actually fill in as either a center or wing. Ultimately, he would simply provide a major boost to their top six, which is important come playoff time. Minnesota is also set to have limited cap space over the next few seasons due to them buying out Ryan Suter and Zach Parise, so now is the time to make that big push.
