Blackhawks Forward Done For Season

Jujhar Khaira has had back surgery will be out for the next 10 to 12 weeks because of it. With this, the 27-year-old is done for the year.

Khaira has not played since January 17th's contest against the Seattle Kraken due to his injury. Earlier this campaign, he also left December 7th's game against the New York Rangers due to a heavy hit from Jacob Trouba. Overall, it's been a very hard year for the forward when it comes to his injury trouble.

In 27 games this season with the Blackhawks, Khaira had three goals to go along with a minus-4 rating. Although he wasn't particularly dominant on the scoresheet, he was still an extremely physical force. This is made apparent by his impressive 88 hits on the year. Chicago will certainly miss that element of his game in their lineup.

Khaira signed a two-year, $1.95 million contract with the Blackhawks last offseason, so he will have the chance to build on his numbers with the team next season. In 285 career games between the Edmonton Oilers and Blackhawks, he has 27 goals, 39 assists, 66 points, and a minus-44 rating.
