Hurricanes Defenseman To Miss Time

Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Tony DeAngelo will be out four weeks due to an upper-body injury.

After signing a one-year, $1 million contract with the Hurricanes over the summer, DeAngelo has turned out to be a spectacular addition to the Hurricanes. In 43 games, he has nine goals, 31 assists, and a plus-19 rating. When remembering everything that went down between him and the New York Rangers organization, there was understandably concern about signing him. Yet, it's a gamble working out for Carolina right now.

With DeAngelo out for roughly a month, the Hurricanes will miss him immensely on their blueline. he is their top defenseman in terms of offensive production, so it will be hard to replace him in the lineup. Thankfully, however, the Hurricanes sport a 35-11-4 record, so they are in a spectacular spot in the standings.

It will be hard to be without DeAngelo, but they should be fine when looking at how good the Hurricanes are.
