Montreal Canadiens Hire Vinny Lecavalier In Latest Front-Office Additions

The Montreal Canadiens continue to be busy on and off the ice as the team announced they have hired former Tampa Bay Lightning great Vincent Lecavalier to join their front office.

This comes on the heels of the team hiring his old teammate Martin St Louis as their interim head coach. Lecavalier joins the Habs as the club's new special advisor to hockey operations, while they have also announced the hiring of Nick Bobrov in the position of co-director of amateur scouting.

As for Lecavalier, the Quebec-born legend was an elite offensive talent over his 17-year career which was mostly spent with St Louis on the Tampa Bay Lightning. He collected 421 goals and 528 assists in his 1,212-game career and won the Stanley Cup with the Lightning in 2004. The two were teammates for 12 seasons.

There's quite the connection cycle between everyone involved in the Canadiens front office now as Lecavalier was a longtime client of Kent Hughes, Montreal's freshly named general manager. As for Bobrov, he worked with vice president of hockey operations Jeff Gorton for over a decade between two stops with the New York Rangers and Boston Bruins.
