NHL Rumors: Blackhawks Rejecting Big Trade Offers

Multiple teams have offered a first-round pick and prospect to the Chicago Blackhawks for Brandon Hagel, according to Frank Seravalli. However, he also noted that they do not wish to move the 23-year-old at this time.

The Blackhawks are expected to make a lot of trades before the deadline. After a summer of spending, they have had a very disappointing season and are out of the playoff race right now. It was previously reported by Seravalli that the Blackhawks only have three untouchable players - Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, and Seth Jones. Yet, it's become clear that Hagel essentially is, even if Chicago isn't officially saying it.

The Blackhawks value Hagel immensely, as those offers for him are not small at all. Yet, he is also having a very good season, so it's easy to see why they want to keep him around. In 43 games, he has 14 goals to go along with 13 helpers. He also is known for playing a high degree of effort and tenacity, so that only makes him even more effective.

Alas, Hagel seems to be a player who the Blackhawks want to build their roster around for the future, and one can't blame them for doing so. Yet, if teams begin to offer even more than a first-round pick and prospect, one has to wonder if they will be more open to moving him.
