NHL Rumors: Kings Making Calls To Canucks

According to Elliotte Friedman, the Los Angeles Kings have been in contact with the Vancouver Canucks. They are looking to acquire a scoring forward, and several potentially available players from Vancouver fit that description.

The biggest name that comes to mind from the Canucks who could be perfect on the Kings is Brock Boeser. It would give them another top-six option on the wing and when he's on his game, he is a huge scoring threat. In 47 games this season, he has 15 goals and 15 assists. He has been heating up as of late after a very slow start to the year, too.

However, Friedman also noted that GM Rob Blake doesn't want to give up too many assets. Therefore, if the asking price is too much for players like Boeser, Conor Garland, or J.T. Miller, they likely will pass on them.

Tanner Pearson could be a nice consolation prize if talks between LA and Vancouver continue. His name has come up in the rumor mill and he is obviously a familiar face. In 49 games, he has nine goals, 14 assists, and a plus-3 rating. The 29-year-old works well as a middle-six winger and would give the Kings another decent weapon.

At the end of the day, these two teams are at least engaging in discussions. It will be interesting to see if a trade of some kind occurs later down the road.
