NHL Rumors: Senators Targeting Blackhawks Forward

According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, the Ottawa Senators are interested in Chicago Blackhawks forward Dylan Strome.

Strome has been the subject of trade rumors since the offseason, but a deal has never come to fruition. This fact is even more interesting when remembering that the 24-year-old was a healthy scratch numerous times during the beginning of the year. Yet, he is still a member of the team now as we inch closer to the deadline.

In 39 games this season, Strome has nine goals, 12 assists, and a minus-6 rating. He has picked up his play lately and even was given top-line minutes in the process. However, it is still hard to determine if his future will be with the Blackhawks. This is especially true when remembering that they are expected to make many trades from here.

If he is moved, the Senators could be a great team for Strome to join. At this time, they aren't necessarily known for possessing the strongest of depth down the middle. With this, it's likely that he would be able to have a top-six role, too.

The Senators have been linked to Strome previously, so it isn't surprising to hear that they are exploring this avenue again. Let's see if they strike a deal with Chicago this time around.
