Avalanche Defenseman Out Indefinitely

Colorado Avalanche defenseman Ryan Murray will be out indefinitely due to a fracture.

Murray blocked a shot during March 21st's contest against the Edmonton Oilers and left the game immediately. Due to this, it seemed likely that the 28-year-old sustained a serious injury and with this development, that's, unfortunately, the case.

In 37 games this season, Murray has four assists to go along with a minus-3 rating. It hasn't been a particularly dominant campaign for the 2012 second-overall pick, but he has been a decent option for their bottom pair. With the playoffs just around the corner, it certainly isn't good news that he will potentially be out long-term.

Murray has dealt with injuries all season, and now another one has been added to the list. Here's to hoping that the veteran will be good to go before the playoffs roll around.
