Jack Eichel Chirps Sabres Fans During His Return to Buffalo

The Vegas Golden Knights made their annual stop in Buffalo on Thursday to take on the Sabres in what was Jack Eichel's return to where it all began. Eichel was supposed to be the face of the franchise for at least a decade and unfortunately after six-plus seasons it just didn't work out and ended up providing us with one of the ugliest divorces we've ever seen in the NHL.

The Sabres ended up winning the game 3-1 with goals from Alex Tuch and Peyton Krebs, two of the major pieces Buffalo got in the trade with Vegas so there was some poetic justice to say the least. Here's some of what Eichel had to say after the game:

That's about the loudest I've heard this place, ever. It only took seven years and me leaving for them to get into the game. There was plenty of people here that were supporting me, and there was plenty of people here that were booing me. They must just be booing me because they wish I was still here, I don't know
