Kraken Trade Veteran Forward To Capitals

The Washington Capitals have acquired Marcus Johansson from the Seattle Kraken in exchange for Daniel Sprong and draft picks.

There were rumblings earlier on Monday that Johansson would end up going back to the Capitals by several NHL insiders. Now, with this development, that is in fact the case.

The Capitals are getting a familiar face in Johansson, as he began his career with the team. Now, five years after his departure, the 31-year-old will once again be trying to help the Capitals win the Stanley Cup this spring.

Johansson has quietly been having a solid season with the Kraken. In 51 games, he has six goals and 23 points, so it is clear that he is capable of providing solid depth scoring. Let's see if he's able to keep up this momentum back in Washington.
