Maple Leafs Extend Forward And Defenseman

The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed Kyle Clifford to a two-year, $1,525 million contract extension. With that, they also have signed Carl Dahlstrom to a one-year, two-way contract extension.

Clifford was acquired by the Maple Leafs earlier this season from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for future considerations. The 31-year-old was a familiar face to the organization, as he was traded to the Leafs from the Los Angeles Kings during the 2019-20 campaign, too.

Since joining Toronto for his second stint, Clifford has three assists in 12 games. He also has gotten into action with the Marlies. In eight contests, he has three goals. With this signing, the Leafs will continue to have him as a solid depth forward. It also doesn't hurt that he plays a very heavy game, too.

Like Clifford, Dahlstrom will continue to provide the Leafs with more depth but on defense. The 27-year-old appeared in one game for them this season and was left off the scoresheet. With the Marlies, he has recorded 13 assists in 36 games.
