Minnesota Wild and Arizona Coyotes Agree to a Deal

The Minnesota Wild have found a suitor for disgruntled prospect Jack McBain as the Wild have shipped the NCAA star off to the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for a second-round pick in 2022.

As Bobby Margarita points out, the deal won't become official until the Coyotes get McBain to sign on the dotted line. Arizona is a perfect landing spot for the 22-year-old center as he'll have every opportunity to play some serious minutes as soon as next season.

With Boston College this season McBain recorded 19 goals and 33 points in 24 games and represented Canada at the recent winter Olympics. Known for his elite vision and offensive instincts along with a superior finishing ability it will be curious to see how things transpire for the prospect in the desert. Interestingly enough it's likely to feel like a college game with only 5,000 people attending home games.

Arizona has already been busy moving goaltender Scott Wedgewood to the Dallas Stars, meanwhile the Wild have been linked to Marc-Andre Fleury, which would certainly be a huge splash for the franchise. Expect to see both teams in the mix on Monday as trade talks are running wild throughout the league.
