NHL Rumors: Blackhawks Superstar Wants To Stay Put

According to David Pagnotta, Patrick Kane has informed his teammates that he isn't ready to be traded by the Chicago Blackhawks.

With this development, it all but ensures that Kane will not be dealt before the deadline. This was the expectation before this news, however, as it's been reported that the Blackhawks will have discussions with the superstar winger during the summer. If he changes his mind, a trade won't happen until at least the offseason.

The Blackhawks began their rebuild in a huge way earlier this week, as they traded Brandon Hagel to the Tampa Bay Lightning for two first-round picks and players. It is clear that GM Kyle Davidson is committed to the rebuild and open to moving players. Yet, due to the fact that Kane does not want to be moved and he carries a no-movement clause, he is safe to stay.

In 58 games this season, Kane has 19 goals and 69 points. Needless to say, he is still a top-of-the-line player in this league. It will be intriguing to see if he's more open to a trade during the summer.
