NHL Rumors: Capitals Interested In Reunion With Forward

According to Chris Johnston, the Washington Capitals are expressing interest in Seattle Kraken forward Marcus Johansson.

The Kraken made it abundantly clear that they are willing to be major sellers before the deadline is here, as they already have traded Mark Giordano, Colin Blackwell, Mason Appleton, and Jeremy Lauzon. Johansson, who is a pending UFA, understandably is expected to be moved, too.

The Capitals could use some more depth on offense, and Johansson would provide them with that. The 31-year-old offers immense versatility, as he can play all three forward positions. That comes in handy during the playoffs when injuries occur, too.

In 51 games this season with Seattle, Johansson has six goals, 17 assists, and a minus-22 rating. It will be intriguing to see if he ends up back in Washington. Keep in mind, he is a very familiar face, as he played his first seven seasons with them.
