NHL Rumors: Ducks Interested In Blackhawks Winger

The Anaheim Ducks are expressing interest in Chicago Blackhawks forward Dominik Kubalik, according to Ben Pope.

Kubalik could certainly be an interesting option for a team like Anaheim. Although he has an expiring contract, he will still be under team control as an RFA. Thus, he would be more than a rental, which is perfect for the Ducks, as their playoff hopes are currently slim.

It has been a bit of a down year for Kubalik, so he could benefit from a change of scenery. In 60 games this season, he has 11 goals to go along with 10 assists. That is low for his standards, as he just had a 38-point campaign in 56 games last season and also scored 30 goals as a rookie. Needless to say, he has the potential to do more.

It will be interesting to see if the Ducks end up picking him up. He could be a very good fit there.
