NHL Rumors: Jets Interested In Wild Prospect

According to Elliotte Friedman, the Winnipeg Jets could be a potential landing spot for Minnesota Wild prospect Jack McBain.

It has already been reported that McBain is expected to test free agency this summer. The Boston College forward is in his senior season and will have the right to this offseason. As a result of this, the Wild are looking to trade him and the asking price is a second-round pick.

Although Winnipeg doesn't have a second-round pick, they very well could land at least one of them before the deadline is over. The Jets are expected to sell at the deadline and Andrew Copp could easily get them at least one.

Why would Winnipeg be interested in McBain, though? Besides the fact that he is having an excellent campaign at BC, his father Andrew also played six seasons as a Jet himself. That sense of familiarity could strike Jack to want to play in Winnipeg, too.

Alas, we will have to wait and see if these two teams complete a trade.
