NHL Rumors: Predators Interested In Blackhawks Defenseman

According to David Pagnotta, the Nashville Predators are expressing interest in Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Calvin de Haan.

At this point of the season, the Predators have a 31-20-4 record and are fifth in the Central Division. Things haven't been going well for them, as they have won only four out of their last 10 games. Due to this, they also now hold the second Wild Card spot. Teams like the Edmonton Oilers, Anaheim Ducks, and Vancouver Canucks are all very close to catching them, too.

The Predators aren't in a position where they should go all out this deadline season and trade their first-round pick. However, a player like de Haan could make sense, as he wouldn't cost them too much. Furthermore, they would benefit from adding another veteran on their blueline. This is especially true if they maintain their playoff spot.

In 51 games this season, de Haan has one goal, four assists, and a minus-18 rating. Although it hasn't been the best of years for the 30-year-old, there is a lot of interest around the league for his services. Let's see if Nashville is the team that successfully lands him.
