Senators Goalie Placed On IR

Ottawa Senators goaltender Matt Murray has been placed on injured reserve.

This news comes after Murray allowed 13 goals on 53 shots over his last two starts. Before that, the 27-year-old was playing fantastically and looked like his former self. In his previous eight starts, he allowed two or fewer goals in seven of them. Needless to say, he likely has been dealing with this injury during his recent cold stretch and should benefit from the time off.

His two latest starts negatively impacted his stats. He once again sported a .920 save percentage before them, but now it has dropped to a .906. With that, he also has a 5-12-2 record and 3.05 goals-against average.

It's been a whirlwind of a season for Murray, as he of course was placed on waivers after starting the season with a 0-5-0 record. Now, once he is ready to go, he will be aiming to get right back on track. He already showed this season that he is capable of bouncing back. Let's see if he can again.
