NHL Rumors: Jets Forward Could Be On The Move

The Winnipeg Jets could explore the possibility of trading Pierre-Luc Dubois if the young forward is not open to signing a long-term extension with them this summer, according to Elliotte Friedman.

Friedman noted that Dubois is just two years away from being eligible for unrestricted free agency. Thus, the Jets of course will want to sign him long-term. Yet, if Dubois ends up only being open to a short-term extension, it will become clear that he's at least considering the possibility of testing the open market once he's able to.

Dubois has put together a strong second season with the Jets, as he has 27 goals and 31 assists in 78 games. His trade value is higher than it was a year ago, so that also could spark Winnipeg to listen to offers on the 23-year-old. Alas, this is something we all should keep an eye on this summer.
