Blackhawks Sign Defenseman

The Chicago Blackhawks have signed Filip Roos to a two-year contract. He will carry a cap hit of $925,000.

It had been rumored since last month that the Blackhawks were going to bring in Roos, but now, it has officially come to fruition. Overall, this seems like a pretty solid move for the rebuilding Blackhawks, as they are adding a young defenseman to their system without having to give up any assets.

Roos just completed his first full season in the Swedish Hockey League with Skelleftea AIK. In 50 games, he scored a goal and added five assists. Now, he will be heading to Chicago in hopes of eventually landing himself a permanent role with the NHL squad later down the road.
