NHL Rumors: 3 Potential Landing Spots For Shayne Gostisbehere

Last offseason, the Philadelphia Flyers gifted the Arizona Coyotes with Shayne Gostisbehere, a 2022 second-round pick, and a 2022 seventh-round pick for taking on the 29-year-old's contract. Since then, Ghost Bear has thrived with the change of scenery and has made that trade a complete steal for Arizona. In 82 games on the year, he had 51 points. Yet, with the Coyotes having a fire sale, we could see them move him this summer and land even more assets. Here are three teams who should target him if he's made available.

New York Islanders: The Islanders had a lot of trouble offensively this season and missed the playoffs because of it. Although Gostisbehere is a defenseman, his arrival would provide the team with more production from the point. With that, they haven't found a replacement for Nick Leddy on the left side, while Zdeno Chara and Andy Greene could be hanging up the skates this summer.

Seattle Kraken: Kraken GM Ron Francis noted that he is aiming to add an offensive defenseman this summer. Although John Klingberg will be his primary target, Gostisbehere is also a player who he could look at. Seattle is still building their roster, but if Gostisbehere is open to signing an extension, he would be a solid long-term option for the Kraken.

Buffalo Sabres: After trading away several core players, the Sabres provided fans with a lot of optimism this season. Although they still have more work to do to become a playoff team, it finally seems that they are heading in the right direction. As a way to keep this trend going, they could look at Gostisbehere as an option to help strengthen the left side of their defensive group and powerplay.
