NHL Rumors: Canucks Goaltender Finished In Vancouver

According to Rob Simpson, the Vancouver Canucks will not be re-signing Jaroslav Halak for the 2022-23 season.

The 2021-22 campaign was a year to forget for Halak. He dealt with injury trouble and wasn't utilized very often when healthy. In 17 games as a Canuck, he sported a 4-7-2 record, 2.94 GAA, and .903 SV%. Furthermore, with the emergence of Spencer Martin, it doesn't make much sense to bring back the 37-year-old.

It will be intriguing to see what Halak's next move will be from here. Perhaps a team in a need of a backup goalie will give him a call. Yet, the possibility of him heading overseas or retiring also shouldn't be ignored, either.
