NHL Rumors: Canucks Star Wants To Stay Put

According to Rick Dhaliwal, J.T. Miller's agent told him that the star forward would love to stay with the Vancouver Canucks and sign an extension with the club during the offseason.

Miller was famously one of the biggest names in the rumor mill during the months leading up to the trade deadline. However, a deal never came to fruition, and the Canucks were fairly quiet as sellers. Now, at it stands at this juncture, Miller is heading into the final year of his contract as a Canuck.

Miller just put together a 99-point campaign in 80 games this season, so he is in a position where he can demand a lot of money. If this does in fact occur, Vancouver will need to decide if they want to give the 29-year-old his payday or ship him out of town. Time will tell what happens on that front, but him being open to an extension should provide at least some optimism amongst Canucks fans.
