NHL Rumors: Islanders Looking To Make Big Move

After a very disappointing 2021-22 season, the New York Islanders are expected to be in for a busy summer. According to Kevin Kurtz, the team is aiming to acquire or sign a top-six winger to play with Mathew Barzal.

It isn't surprising at all that the Islanders are looking to add a scorer to their roster. The primary reason behind them missing the playoffs was their lack of offense. They were 23rd in the league in goals-for, and that simply isn't enough to be a contender. However, if they bring in a top-six winger, they certainly should be able to compete for a playoff spot yet again.

The free agency market will offer the Islanders plenty of players to choose from. Barring any last-minute contract extensions, wingers like Johnny Gaudreau, Filip Forsberg, Bryan Rust, Claude Giroux, Evander Kane, and Andre Burakovsky could all be available. We will have to wait and see if any of these players are on the Islanders' radar this summer.
